Walking through Rainwater is an enjoyable series of experiences. Designed in the tradition of a gracious vineyard estate, the restaurants formidable entrance is paved in cobblestones, giving guests a special welcome. A short covered walkway leads to dramatic double doors, etched with a grape vine motif. Inside, the striking mix of traditional and eclectic decor immediately catches the eye, highlighted by a signature cobalt blue raindrop chandelier that seems to drip gracefully from the entrance ceiling.
The spacious foyer is flanked on either side by the main dining areas, each with its own distinctive character. A series of wooden wine lockers with brass plaques, line the back wall. The lockers are available for patrons to rent for an unlimited period of time. The elements of broken glass, high backed chairs, covered in complementary rich fabrics, wrought iron, brick, stucco and tile are woven throughout. The unique lighting fixtures vary between the cobalt blue rain drops, some with a grape vine feel to reflect the extensive wine collection of the proprietor, to the four-foot wrought iron wall sconces that cast an amber glow and give a rustic, yet tailored look.
The Smoking Room offers the most rustic feel, featuring a fire place topped with a round twisted framed mirror. The room is highlighted by dark wood ceiling and floors. Guests may enjoy fine cigars from the rooms humidor.
Rainwaters working Wine Cellar offers a unique dining environment unlike any other in the city. The Wine Cellar is perfect for an intimate dinner for six to ten people and is set off from the main dining area by a set of wooden and etched glass doors, with an intricate grape vine motif, echoing the main entrance doors. Under the rooms brick vaulted ceiling, an antique dining table is set with china, crystal and silver, exclusive to the Wine Cellar. Surrounding this beautiful setting are some of the rarest wines from Rainwaters 8,000 bottle collection.
Adjacent to the Wine Cellar is a more modern dining space, where a serpentine booth takes center stage, featuring broken glass accents and a pewter wine motif emblem on the base. Small, modern spot lights are suspended from the ceiling.
Across the foyer is another dining niche of distinction accented by a dramatic crimson banquette and a curved framed mirror that runs the length of the room. Light from the adjacent bar shines through crackled glass on part of the facing wall. The handsome bar continues the cobalt blue raindrop lighting theme, features 40 seats and offers wine, domestic and imported beer, cordials and spirits including the alluring blue rain drop martinis, not to be missed.
Rainwater also offers two private dining rooms on the main level, each accommodating up to 32 people. Each has its own separate music and temperature controls for maximum comfort and convenience.
